Here is a small tutorial about how to setup custom Bone Shapes.
I made this tutorial, because i was asked where to find the arrows with the ball inside.
The arrows with the ball inside...it is just a normal bone, when you select a bone in pose mode you can set a custom shape in the bone menu, the Custom Shape is an mesh object which i have modeled.

Problem is, you don't explain how to get a single bone to control a sequence of actions. That's what I'm wondering about.
